Tank-Monkey: All Booked Up!

Today’s strip signals that the impromptu story hiatus is over! I’m sorry that this story is broken up so much on the site eventually I will go back and re-archive this story so it is all together. In the mean time if you’d like to go back to the beginning that is found HERE

These story pages take a lot more time to make than my one offs typically do but we are getting back to the story.

I’ve been studying different digital coloring work flows and learning a lot more about the process so I hope to at least get faster at the limited coloring I do now and eventually I’d like to add some rendering into my coloring game. but that won’t happen till at least after this story wraps. It won’t happen for awhile but when this story wraps I’ll be putting Tank-Monkey on  hold for a short period of time (I say hold instead of Break because if the Tank-Monkey muse strikes with a good one off I’ll totally run with it and in that case there might be some impromptu updates follow me on Twitter to stay informed in those cases).

During that downtime on Tank-Monkey I’m going to finish closing an “open loop” I intend to bring Just For Kicks to a right and proper end. I’ve had the ending for Just For Kicks in my head for some time but staying busy with all of my projects kept the possibility of closure on the far flung horizon.

Also at the end of this story I will be compiling everything for the long overdue print edition of Tank-Monkey. I’m pretty excited I’ve even put together a basic idea of what the cover art will be. I’m going to print that out and post it above my work station to keep me motivated. It is my strong desire to have that Book done and in hand by next summer. If I can get it done before that all the better but I want to make sure I get this right. I put the deadline at next summer because I will be doing a larger local show in May and I fully expect to be selling Tank-Monkey books at that show if not sooner. SPEAKING OF THAT FUTURE SHOW!

Artist Profile at O-Comic Con

con floor mapWe signed on early for another big first time con that were are really excited to be involved with. We finalized out initial Vendor registrations and have reserved our table space for O-comic Con! The good folks over there are highlighting artists and vendors on their site and WE had the unique privilege of being their very first spotlight 🙂 You can and should take a look at that  by Clicking HERE

Again that won’t be for awhile so you have plenty of Tank-Monkey goodness in your future, but I wanted to be transparent about my plans for the upcoming foreseeable future.

Oh man I had a blast at British Fest  the dealers room was a hoot! Axton and I met some awesome people and made some really cool contacts. Along with hopefully increasing our visibility and presence in the local con community. We got to do a lot of great commissions too! British Fest was a brand new convention in Omaha, NE which was completely British themed as far as props, cosplay, panels, vendors, media guests, and even musical entertainment. There was really so much going on that it was really hard not to find something to enjoy. The dealers/vendors room was hopping a good percent of the time sure we had lulls but they were few and far between. Often if a a big panel was in session we’d have a lull and then a mass influx as soon as that panel let out.

Below I’ll post some pics from the event as well as some of the commission requests I had.
